Typically favorable weather and activities limited only by your imagination will bring you back to June Lake Loop in Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall. We do advise to stay up to date on the current weather forecasts before planning your visit to make the most out of your next visit.

That said, the weather in The Loop can be unpredictable at times, so we recommend keeping the Boy Scout motto in mind: “Be Prepared”! It has been said that it has snowed each and every month of the year at one time or another.

Here are some general guidelines:

SPRING arrives in late March by first melting the snow off the houses and then the yards in town. Gradually the hillsides become clear of snow as well. The last Saturday in April is Fishing Season Opening Day, also known as “Fishmas” as summer-like weather is welcomed into The Loop.

SUMMER begins in June and marks the beginning of our heavy tourist season. Summers in June Lake Loop are very pleasant with normal temperatures in the upper 70s, with lows of 50 degrees at night. These pleasant temperatures make The Loop a haven for hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing and more.

FALL season begins in September. Refreshing temperatures and crisp, cool air bring the changing fall colors, with most of the leaves changing by the second or third week of October. In mid-November the snow begins arriving, and by December we are in full ski season with the commencement of winter.

WINTER is always a delight for winter tourists and ski enthusiasts. There is always an abundance of snowfall and optimal conditions for winter recreation. The winter months are a popular time to visit June Lake Loop.

Each individual season offers its own feel, activities, challenges, and enjoyments. You are more in tune with nature and sense the passing of time more acutely with the varied seasons. It’s very enjoyable! Temperature changes from day to night can be the most drastic during these seasons, so plan accordingly.
