Law enforcement services are provided by the Mono County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies are highly visible, patrolling the June Lake region by car, snowmobile, ATV, boat and foot. They maintain a substation near the June Lake Community Center.
They also provide Search and Rescue operations.

June Lake is the seat of the June Lake Fire Protection District. Being located in mountain and forest terrain, June Lake is at risk for wildfire. The district maintains two fire stations in town, providing both firefighting and paramedic services.
The June Lake Fire Protection District was first chartered on July 19, 1939. The original fire station was built in the 1940’s and has been updated in 1963 and again in 1993.
The June Lake Fire Department is staffed by community volunteers.
