Taking place on April 25\, the last Saturday in April\, this popular weekend brings families and returning anglers back to the Loop to celebrate opening day on the water. \nOpening weekend includes Ernie’s Monster Fish Contest\, where anglers compete for the biggest trout caught across Loop lakes and streams\, with categories for different species and ages. The event is a long-standing June Lake tradition and a highlight of Fishing Opener weekend.
